This page explains the subscription requirements for using Takumi Agent for Endpoint, what happens when the subscription ends, and how to view invoices.

Required Subscriptions

To enroll devices with Takumi Agent, the following two requirements must be met:

Takumi Subscription

Takumi Agent for Endpoint is provided as part of Takumi. An active Takumi subscription is required. If the subscription ends, enrolled devices are no longer protected (see When the Subscription Ends).

To cancel the Takumi subscription, see Cancelling a Subscription.

Enabling a Billed Feature

Subscribing to Takumi alone does not enable Endpoint billing. An owner or Takumi manager enables each feature from Endpoint > Settings in the Shisho Cloud console:

  1. In the Billed features section, click Enable… next to the feature.
  2. Confirm the dialog. The feature is added to your organization's Takumi subscription.

Enabling a feature requires an active Takumi subscription first. If your organization has none, the console asks you to subscribe on Plan & Billing first.

Until a feature is enabled, enrollment keys cannot be created and no charges are incurred.

A feature cannot be removed from the settings page. To disable it, contact us via the support page.

Moving from the Admin Deployment Script

Devices set up with the Guard admin deployment script use Guard org user tokens, which are billed per token. A Mac that runs Takumi Agent no longer needs its token. After installing the agent, revoke the old token under Guard > Tokens, so the Mac is billed once, as an Endpoint device, not also as a Guard token.

When the Subscription Ends

The subscription has ended when the Takumi subscription is cancelled, or when Stripe has stopped retrying a failed payment. While Stripe is still retrying the card, the subscription still counts as active.

When the subscription ends:

  • New enrollments are refused.
  • Every enrolled Mac stands down at its next check-in. The agent shows Subscription ended, and package installs go straight to the public registries. Nothing is uninstalled.
  • The console shows the banner "Takumi Agent for Endpoint has no active subscription. Devices are not protected and enrollments are refused."

When you subscribe again, protection returns at each Mac's next check-in. The devices do not need to be enrolled again.

Billing Cycle

Endpoint usage fees are aggregated per Takumi subscription billing period and invoiced within 3 days after the billing period ends.

  1. Subscription fee: Charged at the start of each billing period (prepaid).
  2. Endpoint device fees: Charged within 3 days after the billing period ends (postpaid), per billable device and feature. The upcoming invoice shows ¥0 for Endpoint until the period closes.

Payment is processed automatically through Stripe using the payment method registered with your Takumi subscription.
