# Takumi Periodic Assessment Released

**Periodic Assessment** is now available. Set it up once, and Takumi automatically assesses the files changed in your GitHub repository every week or every month.

## Overview

In repositories where features are added or modified frequently, each change can introduce new vulnerabilities. On the other hand, starting an assessment by hand every time takes effort.

At each scheduled time, periodic assessment automatically runs a whitebox or graybox assessment on the files changed since the previous scheduled time, so you no longer need to configure and start an assessment by hand each time. Because it assesses only the changed files, it also consumes fewer credits than assessing the whole application every time.

If nothing changed during the period, the run is skipped and consumes no credits. Completion notifications arrive by Slack or email, so you can, for example, review the latest results at a weekly team meeting.

The diagram below shows how each scheduled run proceeds.

Unlike the existing Slack-based periodic assessment, it is configured from the Shisho Cloud byGMO web interface. No Slack integration is required to run it.

## Getting Started

Open the "Periodic assessments" tab under "Assessment" in the sidebar and click "New periodic assessment". A GitHub integration is required beforehand. For the settings and the conditions under which each run starts, see the user guide.
